Bespoke log store
Need somewhere to store your logs? Let us build a log store to suit your outside space, so you never need run out again.
The finished log stores make a lovely feature in your garden, as well as ensuring your logs stay well-seasoned.
Each store is individual and handmade, and takes a couple of days to build. We also offer ground work to improve access to your log store, for easy access when you need to restock your fireplace.
Bespoke, handmade log stores start at £450 plus VAT.
Tree surgery
Tree taking over your garden? We can prune, shape, or remove your trees - letting you reclaim your space, and ensure your garden is safe from old, falling branches.
We bring over 5 years experience; hold climbing and powered access certifications; and we’re fully insured.
We can either take the wood away, or process it into logs for you to season and burn yourself.

About Us
Meet Jim
That's me, the little guy with the big grin - which is still how I feel when I'm climbing trees, 40 years on.
I started One Man and His Log to spend time doing more of what I love: messing about in the woods, and sitting by a roaring fire.
This love of the logs means that, since starting this business in 2010, I've made sure to source firewood from sustainable, managed woodlands, rather than farming acres of trees for logging.
Quality product
We deliver a mixture of hardwood logs: silver birch, lime, ash, and oak. Hardwood logs burn for longer, create less tar, and look better in your log store!
We process and grade all our logs to roughly 25 cm long, and then season the firewood in our airy log dryers on the family farm outside Colchester. This can take anything up to two years.
When the logs are dry enough (moisture content below 20%) then we separate and deliver them. Lucky fellas jumping the queue!
